"The financial problems we face are a result of government interference in the market"
Er, what have you been smoking, Nick? It was lack of regulation by government that allowed the bankers [double checks spelling] to gamble away our money in the casino known as the world banking system. Blimey, even the Green Left Hippies [as Nick describes them] and the right-on types like Wat Tyler of the Taxpayers Alliance agree on that and even what to do about it – split high street and casino banking so we consumers [and taxpayers] know where we are putting our money and the taxpayer doesn’t pick up the tab.
But that’s not all, oh no, not by a long way. On the same day the Wall Street Journal report on the role Accounting firms played in the financial crisis and that Ernst & Young are now facing charges of civil fraud. [Hatttip: Adrian].
Now, guess what our Nick Jones does for a living – you got it, he’s an Accuntant!
"Government interference" is it now?
ReplyDeleteIs that the same plucky little British Government that Ukip never tire of exhorting us to defend at all costs from the monster of Europe?
Pretty crazy, good leftist I am I have been impressed by Bank of England head Mervyn King's criticism of the banking system details here http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/publications/speeches/2010/speech455.pdf
ReplyDeleteDon't think UKIP people have read it but I would challenge them to do so.
Hey Derek,
ReplyDeleteAs a "good leftist" how do you square your alignment with the Taxpayers Alliance on this?
